the bloke that does it at hdc is very good ,,he does it the old fashion way with string so iv been told
if you ask bgood ,,as i think hes had is done there
this is where im going ,

Ian.. my work here is done...
My 2 peneth? Maybe a bit far out in Tewkesbury but the Powerstation guys did my full monty with AST's 12 way fully adjustables, 24mm (I think) ARB's at both ends, Whiteline droplinks, Anti-llift and fast road Geo setup.
This is the one they do on the T20/T25 cars and similar to their T25 race car. This handling package won them the Time Attack and Tuner GP meeting against much higher HP cars... The setup is done by Curtis who also sets up race cars for various teams using some real high tech German alignment kit.
I'm certainly no expert in this area by any means, and it may be on the expensive side, but I'd suggest it's one of the most sorted and effective packages out there. Their service and customer care are also second to none... You could buy the bits in stages, but this package is an all in one upgrade that has been put through some pretty serious R&D and come out winning.
You want the best? Sticky has the AST's and Corradoboy, Simon (and a few others) have had them too...
Stage 3 - T25 Spec Kit (On mine with additional droplinks...)
AST Sport-Line Suspension Kit
Rear Adjustable Roll Bar
Anti-Lift Kit
Front Adjustable Roll Bar
4-Wheel Alignment
£1450* + VAT
Stage 4 - Race Suspension
AST 3-way Adjustable Race Kit as used by EVO magazine
Rear Adjustable Roll Bar
Anti-Lift Kit
Front Adjustable Roll Bar
4-Wheel Alignment
£2850* + VAT
Dave Carter had (has?) the 3 ways...and will be better placed to answer on their performance, but the AST's are top drawer units...
PowerStation
The site has some vids to the meetings.... Just ring em and ask for Curtis..
Have a spin in mine if you're seriously looking...

I had my geo done by one of the reputable specialists quoted above, and afterwards it felt no different. The Whiteline 22mm ARB is indeed a 'MUST HAVE' for any Scooby. After I fitted the AST's (myself) I had the geo re-done by Stuart Tams (local mobile outfit, go to any garage in Leeds with ramps) and it was astounding how well it cornered afterwards. Half the price of the specialist and more than twice as good IMHO. Stuart is almost fully retired now, but his grandson asked for his input when doing mine as I was asking for specific handling characteristics, so I got the master whom normally only dons his overalls to train Williams F1 technicians these days. My car was set up taking account of the average UK road camber, my requirements and even my weight (no-one else asked that). The settings applied to my 03 WRX are below, print it off and take it with you. Tams number is on there too....

Hi Imf1 !
I suggest a 24mm adjustable rear Whiteline bar with drop-links first, car corners flatter and understeer is vasty reduced, best value mod I've made to my car !
Geometry - don't think REMotorsport have the gear yet.... I'm waiting too !
If you still feel wealthy, front ALK and 22mm adjustable front bar and drop-links... Reduces understeer even more, and increases front end grip !
Add camber bolts and a full geo set-up !
Corradoboy knows a "specialist" who only does geometry on top-end cars, and works in this area, PM him for a contact number.
Whiteline discount at Demon Tweeks ask for Dave and mention Scoobynet !

P.S. I see Dave's radar is working fine ! LOL

Dunx, I'd recommend the 24mm if the driver has a smooth driving style, otherwise the 22mm is best. The guy will have to honest with himself and decide if he's last of the late-brakers and spends a lot of time sideways (22mm) or fluid, progressive and controlled (thus FAST) (24mm). Similarly, if they plan to fit the bar and never adjust it, why buy adjustable ? How many people do you know adjust them ? Same with the AST's, where I adjusted mine to suit the days driving, many set them up and leave them whether they're pootling 'round town, cruising the m-way or hammering the 'Fiddle

Ian.. David & I are firmly in the 'handling over power' camp and Dave is a little bit more '****' ( he knows I love him...) about the in an outs, and does speak from the heart and with passion..
As Dave mentions it depends on your style and wallet... There's absolutely nothing wrong in going for the one step at a time setup, with something like PS's setup being best done in one go and very well received... one step at a time will enable you to tweak it to suit you or the one stop will get you out of the garage with an ultimate setup that will allow you to start learning straight away..
Having seen you, I'd say go for the 24mm...and again, as Dave says, the only thing I adjust on a regular basis is the stiffness off the AST's... But having 12 way adjustables either end, you have an amazing amount of dialed combinations to get it running just right... and once you've got used to that setup.. knock it down or up a few notches and you've a different car to play with..

I also have to say that of the 12 settings on the AST's, I never used anything higher than 7 on the road. On Blyton I tried 9 but settled back at 8 as it was too twitchy, but on a more flowing and smooth circuit like Oulton you may well get near the 12.
**** me Just 'cos I even varied my tire pressures to suit the day

imf1,
I find the springs and dampers on my car to be fine, with the except of the rears "knocking", but that's another story...
If you don't mind being seen in mine, you could try it ! PM for details....
DunxC
P.S. I agree with Dave about the fiddling, I have left both my bars of hardest setting, but my car is a toy and three day commuter, not a daily driver doing huge miles.... If I didn't love the huge grip I'd soften both bars back to medium and reduce the jiggle over ridges to bearable !

All I can say is, it doesn't matter how good the tools are if they're being operated by a monkey, knowledge and experience clearly counts for a lot.
PS. sorry but I can't for the life of me remember the guys name, might be Malcolm but don't quote me on that, anyway just speak to Howard and he'll sort you out
HDC SUBARU - parts .. breaking .. salvage .. consumables.. mail order

Not sure about HDC's experience in setting up for specific environments, but Stu and Barry give them a thumbs up... Tams has a some top drawer experience in racing and probably use similar experienced methods and Powerstation put their money where there mouth is with the higher tech T20/25 and proven racecar setup & experience by Curtis....
The choice, as they say, is yours....
