Intro & Scooby Exhaust Question
Hello all.
My first post, a quick intro to you all. I live in Wakefield and my car is a silver MY99 import WRX ( i do not know much more than that about it ). Some pics of my car:

I have owned my car for almost 12months, it is now coming up for its MOT. When i first bought the car i was told the car had a performance exhaust (including manifold) fitted and the previous owner had removed the Cat's. I do not have a 'standard' exhaust to put on so i am wondering what to do. Any suggestions ?? My options seem to be:
Find a 'de-cat' friendly testing station.
Buy a scrappers replacement exhaust (including Cat)
Buy a sport cat that fits my existing exhaust.
Could i have your thoughts and any experiences you may have with a similar problem.
Thanks guys.
Andy

I'm fully decating my system soon, best bet is to find, as you put it, a de cat friendly test station, I already know of one or two so I'm covered
In reality, its entirely your own personal choice of what you'd want to do, some people don't want the hassle and risk of either putting the cat back on once a year or finding somewhere that won't fail their car. The sports cat is probably the more sensible option but very pricey.
Be careful about putting a standard cat back on, if your car has been remapped with the de cat system on and you put a cat back on it, it might run crap or worse case damage the engine.
My two penneth...

Andy. Welcome.
I also live in Wakey and have probably seen you knocking about. I've a blue Type 20 with a carbon wing, so you may have also seen me...
As for the exhaust: You don't seem positive about the system you have, so without knowing exactly what the system is and if the cats have been removed then most will be guess work. If you have a sports system, then you may actually get through an MOT.
We have two guys who are club members and who own their own garage. They do a large bulk of the club's servicing and accessories fitting, and my answer would be to take it to them and get a proper inspection on the ramp.
They will be able to advise on what to do and may be able to test / supply parts to the existing system.
If you're needing a service any time soon too, then you won't find any better than Drew & Zac... Plus if you join the club (plug time ) then once given a Membership card, you'll be able to get various discounts from them or other members and friends in the Scooby business..... we have an EGM this Thursday at Squires @8 and the following week our End Of Month meet (EOM) same place at 7:30. You'll be very welcome...... Our Blyton track day is coming up soon (check the Forums for details) and you'll be welcome to attend or just watch and mingle with some like minded petrol heads.
Finally, I'd agree with Rich that you have to do this properly as you don't want to damage your P&J... there's bound to be a better technically qualified person along soon who may be able to post or even Private Message you some help or a solution....

Hi mate and welcome to the WYIOC
The CAT dilema is one I faced also, I certainly would not go down the sport CAT route, The full decat is always the most sensible option
There really are plenty of places to take your car to to get it mot'd but for obvious reasons I can't say on here
join in the banter mate and enjoy your stay
