My House Just Shook!!
Me and Laura have just been woken abrudtly with the whole house shaking vilently, a small tremor followed by a really big shake
I know this sounds stupid and a little overboard but it was really big! I have never in my life felt an earthquake but I am telling you this was real and not a twilight dream.
Just checked chimney stacks and surrounding houses and nothing visible
anybody else feel this ?

Woke us up!
Heard a bang, felt a shake, like the bed had fallen off it's legs, and heard a rather loud "sh*t the bed!!" from my eloquent and expressive other half.
First thoughts were earthquake, then "get a grip, pillock". Dogs didn't bark, no car / house alarms going off. Sod it, back to sleep
Just heard on the radio that it was indeed a bit of a biggie for the UK

tis very interesting, the whole of the UK is now saying "oooh what about the earthquake last night?!"
I wonder how many hanky-pankiers really did feel the earth move?!?!

I felt it too, I txt Lynds when it happened. At 1.20am though I just sort of thought <Peter Griffin style> "What the hell was that?" At first I thought someone had crashed into one of the houses in the street. Like Mick, I've never felt an Earthquake before, I slept through the last one we had so it was new to me too.
It brings a point of realism if it originated in Hull and we felt it to that extent, imagine what Earthquakes in San Francisco and Japan are like...

exactly, we're reasonably safe in the UK from earthquakes, as we're not directly on top of a tectonic plate, we are sat on a number of old fault lines, but they are still moving even though the pressure is only small. hence every so often we get judders, on average, we have 200-300 quakes a year! luckily for us the quakes usually happen quite deep due to younger earth crust covering the fault lines, the one last night was estimated at 9 miles down. which is far!

Yep I felt it,Appsolutely papped myself.........the last few weeks ive been hearing noises in the loft which I just presumed were mice or birds and went up last week to have a look..but nothing, then that happened this morning and......I automatically thought.......its a ghost, ive got a bloody ghost!!Ive got a cockatiel and the bell in the cage was ringing and my bed was shaking so honestly believed I had a ghoul living with me,and living on my own I NEARLY POOED MYSELF!! Turned the light on and it stayed on all night with me thinking "I wonder if thats why the previous occupier left" and "better get it on the market"!!
But radio made me feel better this morning......phew.....was gone ring yvette fielding up and get ghost hunters out
God im a wimp!!
I felt one in zante and that was a 6.2 and it was ALOT scarier, cars bouncing, windows cracking, people screaming.....not nice,I hate to be in a BIG one
