When you got banned at 18, was that a full licence? Did you re-apply for a licence after the ban ended?
You may have passed your test, but that, AFAIK, isn't an automatic licence and wouldn't be on the database....
I have a feeling that after a 12 month+ ban, you have to retest then re-apply for a licence and pay the fee's all over again....
Flis, Sticky or even Si may be able to help here...

I think a re-test is at the judge / magistrate's discretion, and oculd also depend on the offence. I had no such instruction attached to my ban (Might have been a good idea if I had. Imagine four sad gits dressed as coppers sitting about all night for nothing! )
My license simply arrived in the post, no applying or anything.

Anyhow, when i got banned, and yes I'm ashamed to say it did happen, I had no info from the court at all, didn't have to resit or anything, but a week before the 3 month of walking ended I thought I should have got me license back by now so i called the dvla... " err no sir you have no licence, you had it removed and terefore you have no licence" holy **** i thought...had topay for anew one and get it sent... just got it back in time... funny thing was i never surrendered the old one at the court as i forgot it... i just sent it to the dvla thinking they would just put the ban on it... I'd double check you actually have a license mate...
mind you mate nowadays it seems have no license nor insurance means you get a £30 fine payable a 2p a week and a good telling off...

I had my licence removed due to racking up 6 points ( all in one go ) within the first 2 years after passing.
I had to re apply for my licence, then do the theory and practical tests Not sure how you'd be able to re sit tho without having a licence, as mine were checked on application for both the theory and practical tests. I'd guess at a DVLA mix up somewhere . . .

I would contact the instructor who took you when you passed, have you got your driver licence number wrote down anywhere, or does work have a copy?
