you really can not beat this time in the rally history, wished it had not been cancelled, but you really can see why, how daft are them spectators

I was going to say that I think it goes beyond brave or passionate to win, they did not have helmet nets in the back of the cars, just cool boxes for their brains
spectators head dont cut, flat left, right 40, crest, spectaotrs arm don't cut

The speeds that they were going, I'm sure if (when) they did crash the last thing to go through their minds was their a*se!
The cars were just mental and the courses were originally made for slower rally cars plus with the added danger of, lets face it, no spectator safety these guys had to be lightning. I don't think they were all that fussed about the spectators, though hitting bodies can slow you down a tad
Its amazing that with just 3 seasons, Group B rallying manage to gain this huge fan base upto this day. Can you imagine what Group B cars would be like if today if they brought it back using modern versions?!

I have often thought that myself, but truth is it would of got banned at some stage as more fatalities than there actually was would of killed it off pardon the pun,
but if it not been banned FIA certainly would of slowed it down like thay have with F1 from the Turbo days to now and indeed the current WRC format.
was indeed a great era though but late seventies and all the eighties were the best IMHO, maybe because thats when I stood in Kilder hearing all the now gone noises and seeing the 1000watts of cibbies shining through the tree,s
