A Bit Weird
Someone knocked at the door at 8,45 tonight, which was a bit strange with it being that time on a sunday night... I went down to answer it, it was a young asian guy probably about 25yrs old,
He said Hi and went on to say that someone had run into his work van on our street this week and that he needed the streets postcode to give his insurance people, I found this abit weird as the first part of the postcode is on the street sign and then if he had given the street name to the insurance people wouldnt they have been able to find it????????
plus if he was working then wouldnt he have a post code or address for whereever he was working ?????
I said to him the first part then just said i didnt want to give our full post code as then we might end up with the insurance docs saying we were the ones that run into him so then he apologised for calling late and went....
I came upstairs and explained to scott and honestly we are a bit worried..
1. the house was empty last night as we stayed out - so was he checking if anyone was in...
2. the scoob is outside was he sharking around for that and seeing if i was in on my own
Might sound a bit over the top but i called the local police switchboard number just to see if they had had anymore similar and they havent which is a good thing i suppose, but she has said it sounds a bit suspicious....
please help guys, what do we all think?
ps,if its the scoob they want i will leave the keys in the car as long as it means they dont bother us......

maybe just acting slightly over the top really just made me a bit nervous, but not good picking the house with three trained kick boxers in it let alone a female thats premenstrual

Best bet would be to contact Simon and see what he says...
It does sound dodgy, I'd be worried, with the amount of Impreza thefts that have happened recently. Its been broken into once (2 months after I got it) and Si told me that he took two lads to the nick who were looking round my car at 3am one night just before Christmas.
Though if they do come back for the car or into the house I'm sure they'll be met with a suprise in you and Scott Keep your guard up

it wasnt anything to do with him being asian that was just a description to see if anyone have had a similar incident recently.

It could be a new one, if they are thieves, they come up with new scams all the time so theres no pattern. It makes them harder to trace, though the general plan will always be the same.

Exactly, though I know people say that they should just be given it but I've worked damn hard to get what I have and been in the position I am to get it, I won't allow this scum to just take it. This is just me - the way I am.

Not been on for a couple of days due to work.
Not heard of any similar incidents.
Without worrying you I would say you are right to be concerned.
It may be nothing at all but I cannot think of any reason why he would come to your door and ask that.
It could have been a case of seeing if anyone was in or what vehicle you have or even possibilities of identity fraud but for that he would need your post code and a couple of other details.
Just be wary and you have my number if anything else happens

Not exactly a comment to make friends with Andy.
Comments do vary on SN but the comments in this thread are to be frank, racist, which if you look at the policies and terms of SN you will find that it is not tolerated. Regardless of what your sense of humour is, just put some thought into what you post as obviously some good folk on here may get offended...
You have to ask yourself why people continually keep rating your posts negatively. If its only happening to you then have a think about why...

have you got any other highly-sought-after-nickable motors that live nearby?
it might be worth a quick chat with their "parents" to see if they have had similar approaches, and your close neighbours too, if he was casing out your house?

Defo speaking to neighbours is a good idea. He might have knocked on a couple of doors. Hopefully he's learned that it ain't worth it and moved on, but he might of been asking for a legit reason (if a little wierd)
