Sad Announcement - Ant (Bug Eyed Peas) Died on Wednesday.....
A sad day for those who knew Ant. Cancer took him from us on Wednesday.
Club condolences, thoughts and our deepest sympathies go to Angie and Ben.
Ant was an active WYIOC supporter, who carried the badge and was always at those events he could attend.
RIP Mate.....
Al.

One the back of a call today, I've posted the following on the main NSR thread...
*************************
For those who knew Ant, I'm sure each and everyone would like to send their condolences to Angie and Ben.
Unless it's very specific or you are very close to Ange at this time can I respectfully ask that people refrain from PMing Ange in the short term to allow her and Ben the time to come to terms with their loss.
Further information will come out in due course.
Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
Al.

Very sad news indeed
Ant was indeed a very nice gentleman, and often frequented quiet today.
I offer our condolences and our thoughts too are with all Ants family and friends at this sad time.

Unfortunately never had the chance to meet Ant, but have read a lot of posts from him on SNet. Always helpful when people asked for advice, and he seemed like a genuine and friendly person.
Our thoughts are with his family.

Dont know what to say really, its overwhelming to read all these posts for Ant. He was only 38 some of you seem to think he was 40. It's only two weeks since he died and things don't get any easier. As some of you know he had melanoma cancer two years ago and had two operations. We thought everything was ok until 10 weeks ago, he went to the doctors and was told he had gastroenteritis, then told he had gallstones. He then went for an ultrasound scan at the hospital to reveal that the melanoma had spread to his liver. He was very yellow and his eyes were the same and his breathing got bad. On 2nd April I said that I should call the doctor as his breathing seemed a bit strange. He said he was ok and that he needed to stay with me and Ben. Then by 3.30 he shouted ambulance so i called them. I was trying to arrange childcare for Ben so said I would follow the ambulance, before I could do that the hospital told me to get there as he was very poorly. I got there at 4.30 and they told him I was there and it seemed that he looked straight through me. The doctors asked him if there was anything he wanted to say to me and Ben (even though Ben wasn't there) and he blew kisses and said sorry I didn't have life insurance. They then transferred him to a ward and he died at 2 minutes to 7. To sit and watch him die was heart wrenching. When I told Ben his daddy had died he asked me if I was kidding and then screamed the place down. Then he asked me if his heart would start beating again and would the angels put him back in our house. Then Ben said to me he didn't want a sad mummy.
Don't know what else to say we are both gutted and things don't seem to get any easier and I don't know how we will cope. I have had to sell both our cars as I could not bear to look at them or drive them. St James's hospital called me and asked why we had not showed up at his chemo appointment and presumed that we had had a bad day. I was fuming and when they called back had to say that Ant had died before he even got the chance to have it.
Been to the bank today to try and sort the mortgage out and close his bank account and there was a massive **** up. I had to say in the middle of the bank and it's customers why I was there. I am so angry at the moment, 38 is no age and we had paid life insurance for 12 years but had to declare that he had a mole removed and they revoked his insurance and said he could have it next year.
Ben gutted and asked if he could have another daddy and keeps hiding under the bed.
It's a very difficult time and thanks for all your support and kind words. Life will never be the same for us and I sincerely hope we can keep the house that we shared as a family.
Ange and Ben

Errr, just like to add my deepest thoughts and condolences to you both and say aslo i've just had a serious few mins of quiet reflection after reading that post with a tear in my eye... there's nothing i can say other than the situation and pure bad luck could happen to any of us and with that i think we must all accept that we are all here but for a very short time, some shine brightly in this time and it seems Ant was that kind of person...
if there's something we can do as a team, and a team\club that beyond Subaru's and boyish stuff, is one that's thoughtful and considerate I'd be happy think we could at least help in some way...
If there's anything we can do and by that i mean personlly also, then please get in touch.
once again, my heartfelt thoughts are with you both.
Darren

Scott - I have PM'd and MSN'd you mate regarding this.
I've spoken to Ange and she's touched at the thought.
If you're happy to progress this with us and SNET in general, then let's make this happen for her and Ben.
I've PM'd Simon (Webby) and I'm waiting on a reply to see if it's OK to do this in General.
