A Midsummer Night's Thingy '08
Time for this again.
The best date would be either Friday 20 and / or Sat 21st (solstice - longest daylight hours) and following last year's slightly late arrival, we'll need to set off at 6pm LATEST
BUT.....
What do we want to do this year folks?
Coast-to-coast as last year - BBQ on the West coast as the sun goes down, then drive over to the East coast for it coming back up to the taste of a bacon sarnie.
OR...
Just head for the West coast with BBQ, beer and sleeping bags, kip on't beach around a log fire then head back home in the morning.
The choice is yours
As for location... same place? (We'll need a better supply of firewood )

What a hard decision to make Sticky as they both sound great fun...
I have never slept on a beach before, maybe now is the time before i get too old !!
Can't wait for this as i missed out last year.
Bring it on ..

was indeed one not to be missed last year, great fun, but the tiredness did take something away from it all.
The beach Fire and photos were just fantastic on the West Coast, but with the drive to the East following drinking was a no, no,
I think if we made a night of it on that spectacular beach, the fun times would role.
guess were my vote went

Right, a pretty resounding result in favour of the full-on beach party.
My suggestion would be...
Leave here on the Saturday (21st June) at around 3-4pm, take a steady drive to the coast, same location as last year with parking right next to the beach and right on the edge of the Lake district. Pitch up in plenty of time for footie, bbq, beer, fire, sunset, kip?
Then up for brekky and spend a quiet Sunday morning in the lakes.
Any other suggestions?
