'You say goodbye and I say hello'
Sorry you're finding the criticism of your u/n so hard to deal with. Shame, as if you could get over it you'd be joining a superb bunch of dedicated car enthusiasts and meeting some probable great friends. Your loss over something silly really.

No surprise really as the name has really offensive connotations. No different to 'Al Qaeda' or other similar inappropriate BB names I've seen on other sites... I'd even go so far as to consider it a thoughtless act as people on here may have been directly affected by him. In fact, my Sister-in-law was interviewed by the Police at the time as it's strongly believed she was being followed by him on the night of one particular murder. So you've come a hair's breadth from offending me greatly, with the casual dismissal of John's (FL6), and the other comments, not helping the cause.
Jumping straight to the 'I'm not changing it' attitude is also dismissive and harsh on yourself. Dave rightly states that for the sake of a simple name change, you're the one loosing out to a great set of people...

I changed my name from monkeyspanker to rectoid then to spilfhunter before settling on MickWrx, a change of name is really easy to get along with folk saying that I am still all of the above
a few , and . aditionally speeling rectifications should keep people of my back

5 women slayed in London by the original Ripper and 13 by Peter suttcliffe, not the most tastfull of user names to be honest, unless being refered to by a name synonymous with 18 murders is your idea of a hoot.
disclaimer:- the number of murders could be inaccurate, but no less than the above.

Yorkshire ripper is a fine username, each to their own! This guy has a mental skyline!... Do you still have it mate? Guess you need a new place to play now LC is gone, no fun there! Did you ever get the car back from Aus?

i find it hard to et my head around using Yorkshire Ripper and thinking "Oh! thats a good user name for a forum", of course you could have used Ian Huntley it probably have taken the same kind of social skills.
And no I'm not getting old...
