I'd spend a bit more on mods to get the best from a remap. Consider full decat, but don't worry too much about CAF's and I/K's as the OE air intake set up is good for well over 400bhp IMHO. For real on road driving performance, look at suspension and chassis mods. My WRX with just 260bhp running AST's and some Whiteline bits used to hold it's own easily against significantly more powerful machines, and Al's Litchfield Type 20 with the full AST/Whiteline package was probably the best and fastest road Scooby in the club, although not the fastest I've driven as Litcho's T25 takes that accolade. On the road, when the really high powered cars were scrabbling for grip and scared to use their power, I used to just plant it in the safe and comfortable knowledge that my car was stable, composed and controlled, even whilst cornering well into three figures. Your money though, so do what you feel is best.

thanks corradoboy, sound advice that - already been thinking about a set of coilovers, if only to get rid of the dreaded rear shock knock. whats your opinion on a set of teins with edfc?

I was thinking the same, but they are too stiff for our QUALITY roads....
Apex/BC coilovers are on IMF's car, bag a ride and see what you think ?

P.S. I'm prob going to end up with Apex later on !

Tein are always considered very hard and IMHO that doesn't always transpire to a fast car. If there's no play at all then the car may become twitchy and nervous. That's why I was always so impressed with the AST's. On the lower settings they were quite comfortable, and even on track I never got them anywhere near the higher settings, although tracks like Oulton with long flowing corners would suit a very stiff set up. On road I ran them at 1-2 around town 4 in the wet and 6-7 in the dry. I got to 9 on track, though they go to 12.

GT30 drop in unit is £1280+vat less the WYIOC discount. Unless you've been very busy with your engine i dont think it will take nearly 2 bar not for long anyhow.
For this unit i would recomend aftermarket management, it can and has been done @ this power quite well on Ecutek, but i think even those guys would agree an aftermarket ecu would offer better control and stability.
Give us a bell mate and i can let you know your options.
cheers andy
