Yep, I managed to get into work today with the DCCD fully locked, I went the route only the big 4x4's were taking... I even had to overtake a stuck Vitara or something! Result. Even with the Directional 18" Tyres.

From: Slowly rebuilding the kit of bits into a car...
LOL I made it 200 yards and the traffic lights wouldn't change !
Then my neighbour stalled a diesel Audi (somehow), on a bend on the hill out of the village, and work called to say we are shut for the day.
Woo Hoo !
DunxC - and his pack of hounds are mostly arsing around in the snow !

Left the van at home this morning, decided to take the car to work. Had a little bit of a play on a local roundabout...as you do...but that was about it. Will see what the roads are like when I finish tonight.

Iwent shopping at 7.30am and the car park was deserted Well, you just have to don't you It took me about another half an hour to get parked
Oh, and the only car I saw stranded by the roadside unable to get up the slightest of inclines was one of those mentioned earlier I was going to get out and advise him to simply let some air out of his back tires, but I opted for payback for all the *tail-gating, queue-jumping, inconsiderate and arrogant driving that owners of these cars so often are guilty of
* - not all drivers of RWD German saloons are like this, just 99.999998% of them

Most of them can't spell either.
Last night on the "62" I approached one from behind rather quickly (in an Avensis deisel I may add), the cheeky **** gave me 2 fingers cos he had to move out of "his" outside lane into the middle lane, which of course was empty.

BTW.. let me elaborate on the BMW + Snow + Stuck issue...
As I said it comes down to the driver knowing his car... Why?
Most modern BM's have a selectable Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) & / or Dynamic Stability Control (DSC+).. The 335D M Sport has both...
These will remove, limit and control power delivery to back when the wheels slip.... easy answer (and one that is the owners handbook) is to turn these off individually to give the driver control.. plenty of slippage
Surprisingly (and contrary to the guff Mr Sticky Stuff & Mr Imfi spout) mine's off quite a lot...
