Cool How fast is your scoob? Punch in and see....

This is interesting......

I put in 330bhp which is what i was doing last year. This calculator says I should do a theoretical drag 1/4 mile of 12.72 secs.....which is fairly close given I did a late 12s with lots of stuff in the booth at York Raceway!

Should be able to do the 1/4 mile in 11.4 seconds according to that site - they failed to take into account how bad my launches are

if I got my car down to 700kg it would do 11.43 on the strip, is it a traction thing?

havn't been down the strip for a while but last time i went down i did a 12 second run, that was when i was having breathing problems with my engine.according to that site i should now be doing an 11.55 quarter mile,if its correct i will be happy at that.i suppose a lot of it depends on gear ratios and how good you are off the line.

Indeed Arf.....11.55 is a very impressive time.....anything in the 11s or under is a damn gd time.

The link I posted up will give you a rough ball part but I am sure it is based on some sort of a mathmetical calc without taking into account what you've outlined above.

I should be up at York Raceway sometime soon - will give you the heads up. Coops will come along I'm sure!

Provided you have a good start, with the longer gears you will knock off some time. I cannot wait for a particular nova and cossie to appear again this year....will be a laugh indeed!

IIRC, when I bought my 2003 JDM STi weights were

JDM STi 1440kg.
UK STi 1470kg.

Oh Spec 'C' 1370kg. I think ?

**** knows why UK gains an extra 30kg though.

I wonder if its anything to do with UK law/health and safety requirements which mean either additional parts or parts which are heavier for safety measures?

i'm happy with the torque figure as it is,andrew thinks it should make close to 500bhp with a little more boost and timing.only going to run this turbo untill winter then its coming off and am going rotated.

500bhp ...that's some power .....What torque and boost are you running now?

Bear in mind if you go rotated then its not just the turbo but you'll be looking at different up and down pipes as well as an external wastegate. However, the upside is then you really are in big boy territory!

its making 536ftlb of torque at mo,yeah i know about the up and down pipes and everthing that goes with it.have bin pricing it all up at roger clarks, would do it now but dont want the car off road anymore over the summer, soon as everthing comes to an end for the winter al be swapping things over.have been thinking of the gt30/40 or the gt35 with a splash of noz to help it spool quicker.

I'm sure i will be mate. Couldn't ask for a more helpful guy than Andrew i did some logging when i took the last cat on the up pipe off, i sent him the log file and he checked it over for me so i knew if it was safe to drive it before he remaps it.

i think 550 sounds like a nice figure, have bin trying to concentrate on handling, gearing and looks of the car just lately.i said i wasnt going to spend anymore on the car this year as 14 grand last year was a bit much, but after doing round 2 of scooby sprint i have managed to blow another £5500.hope its all bin worth it.

Fairly decent calculator.

Too many variables though and most drivers would be very disappointed between the calc results and the real ones

A 0-60mph+1/4mile event I went to a few years ago at Donnington most (modified) Imprezas couldn't record PBs of faster than 6secs 0-60mph
