Default strut brace???

I have fitted a whiteline front strut brace to my STI my05 and i think it may be the wrong part as it is sitting very close to the intercooler.

How close to the IC should it be and how can i find out if i have the correct whiteline product for my model of car???

If anyone has some pictures of one fitted to an STI please could you post them up for me to check

You have to remove the strut brace to get intercooler off so it is close, I'll try find a pic. You can space it up by leaving original nuts on strut mount and sit it on top, that way whenever you remove it the struts aren't disturbed

Thanks Guys,

I'm going to try some washers first, at the moment i can just fit a credit card in the gap and when driving i think it is rattling on the intercooler but only on full throttle.

Send it back and get the Perrin strut brace! Fits perfectly! Sits behind the intercooler and is the same red as the inlet manifold! None of those gay pink ends

Problem solved

It turned out to be the wrong part and it is going to be exchanged for the correct one.

Can't justify the price of the Perrin item plus i'm sure over time that red will fade into a nice pink anyway

Perfectly honest I'm unsure. I wanted to go somewhere and get some advice / look at them.

Hoping to do these at the same time as the ARB.

Have seen good pricing on Tein and Whiteline....presently with the stock TMIC on my Hawk WRX but going to a larger one soon (Hyperflow). Wanted to make sure there was decent clearance.

IMHO the only one I've seen that looks like it REALLY does something useful is the Exe-tc one, but it's double the price of a pink one

Mine's Tein to match the dampers......

how do you get on with the Tein suspension? do you find it acceptable for UK roads?

Reason i ask is because my next step will be along the lines of new springs or possibly some new coil overs. People i have asked so far have said just springs will be better for road use but i have concerns about knocking rear suspension and don't want to throw money away replacing parts

Lofty

I have tein springs on my 06WRX, they are hard for road use (been on about six months now) but had no knocking at all from any corner (touch wood!).

I've tracked it a couple of times (standard) and then with these on. Make a huge difference to both keeping the car flatter through the corners and the roll in general.

Reason I came to this thread was for advice on the struts. Have you done front and back? If so how's the handling now? Which did you go for and what comparisons did you make between similar products?
