Default Headers??

Evening all.
Right, I'm considering bidding on this piece of kit for my 98 uk turbo 2000 wagon.
Impreza exhaust manifold headers 93-2005 Turbo models on eBay (end time 20-Feb-10 21:17:53 GMT)

I'm just wondering if it's worth an extra 25 ponies like the seller claims? Also is it gonna give me any problems like overboost of running lean or anything else??

I'm just after a bit of tech advice before I get all giddy and start bidding on it innit.
Thanks for your time.
RGDS.
Dave.

welds on these things aint the greatest mate but i fitted similar to old sti and worked away fine and gave it wee bit more throttle repsponse but nowt to write home about ..although u will lose ur deep subaru burble at higher revs and gain a higher pitched superbike type sound some say sounds better but if me i`d save ma dough and bang a front mount and air filter on her

It would need the fueling checking if you fitted them mate, i would personally go for a set of ported cast headers. I ported a set that I got off Bez, mine now pulls a lot better low down and i can get 1.5bar of boost by 3500 rpm. Tubular headers will allow you to make more power at lower boost than cast headers though.

Cheers for the swift replies guys
Front mount intercoolers look cool, but I can't be arsed butchering the front of me bus to get one fitted innit.
Tubular headers ey? Will I still need to have the fueling checked? Cos my bus isn't mappable I don't think, and I'd have fork about getting it chipped innit. Could I have tubular headers custom made somewhere like longlife of powerflow, or can you get them off the shelf??
Once again, thanks for your time.
Dave.

Sorry for the excessive use of innit, I blame ali g pmsl
So with a front mounted intercooler, Will I still need to get me bus chipped??
I'm just after a bit more power without spending an arm and a leg getting there.

Ah right, so maybe they are worth bidding on after all. My bus is a 1998 uk turbo 2000 wagon. I might have to push the boat out and get it chipped after all, I just won't go to well lane to have it done

Crikey!! I only paid £1700 for the car in the first place. I'm gonna have to do a bit more research before I decide which avenue of pursuit to follow.
Hmm, what to do??

Well, after collating the information/advice I've gathered, I think the best thing to do is just leave my car as it is. The old girl is in mint condition, but she's twelve years old and I don't want to make her poorly. I think I'll just keep her as she is and upgrade to an sti wagon in the not too distant future. I'll just make do with the full de-cat, bee*r limiter and 2400 watts of sub bass for now.
Thankyou everyone for your input, it's greatly appreciated
Thanks for your time.
RGDS.
