Default quick brake question

My '99 UK turbo as the 2 pot slider type calipers (front) and single pot rears, which I'm informed are c**p, I'm also told that a decent upgrade is fitting the std iron 4 pots from imports and later cars along with the alloy 2 pot rears, my question is do these simply bolt straight on or will I need to change the discs and master cylinder too?

Direct bolt on mate but you need the discs as well, they are bigger 295mm(fronts) from memory.

shouldnt it have 4 pots on the front being a 99 car?mine has! if you want to fit the later 2pot rear calipers you will need bigger discs and the caliper spacer brackets!!

The honest answer is I don't know, I was led to believe all cars from the '99 facelift had 4 pots but I've also heard that this isn't the case, the fact is my 99MY car as got the 2 pot sliders, that said there are a lot of things about my car that aren't right, but hey ho it is what it is, so the up shot is I'll need a set of discs (fr + r) plus a fitting kit for the rears to fit the 4 pots and later 2 pot rears?

It's a bit of mishmash with classic and the brakes. The 4 pots are direct bolt on replacement but the discs are 294mm on the front and the pads are different.

I've done two brake upgrades on mine since having the car 2pots > Subaru 4pots > Prodrive/Alcon 4pots

Get some braided hoses as well and fit them while you've got the brake system drained. You'll definitely notice a big difference.
