D-Day Weds (MOT booked)
now it's all back together and running I've booked it in for it's MOT Weds at 2.30(so fingers crossed), how well it's running remains to be seen but it's not leaking fluids (anymore) it's not smoking (apart from the previously leaked oil burning off the up pipe heat wrap) and it's not knocking or overheating (although I've only taken it round the block which isn't much of a road test) clutch seems to be OK, very slight judder but I think this will disappear once it's gets a few miles on it.

Thanks for the good wishes, I'm hoping I've checked everything and given it the best chance of passing but it's such a rough old thing you never know what they might find, plus it's easy to miss things when crawling about underneath on the drive with a little torch!!! you always seem to notice stuff you've missed when you get them on a proper inspection ramp, let’s hope I've not missed something important, I know the tester reasonably well so if it's something trivial he'll let it go but if it's serious it will fail.
Gary if it passes I'll be after a front splitter, I can get that fitted and do a bit of painting, start making it look presentable

Well the dreaded test is over, and the initial portents weren’t good, as the smoke trail down the M1/62 to the test station in Normanton would have made James Bond jealous, it was impressive in a very bad way, smoke pouring from under the car while moving and from the bonnet vents when stationary, not cool!!! So you could say it raised a few eyebrows when it rolled into the test centre with smoke billowing out from every orifice from that point things improved, once the smoke had gone and the test progressed I was pleased to find there is nothing actually wrong with it, the smoke was simply the oil which had leaked from the turbo feed pipe I’d had problems sealing, this oil had soaked into the heat wrap and took a surprising amount of time to burn off.
So other than an advisory on the rear sub frame mounting bushes it pleased with flying colours.
So I'm a happy bunny, now I just need to get it looking a bit better, so it will be getting abit of paint this weekend weather permitting.

Good luck with your test, emissions were my mine worry so I tried a product called 'cataclean', I ran some through the car before the test and it sailed through, the car had previously been de-catted so the cat hadn't been fitted in god knows how long, so whether the 'cataclean' worked or the cat was OK I don't know but it can't have done it any harm and the end result was it passed, now to refit th de-cat
