Default Not my year for Subarus

Well after a few weeks of hard work with the help of Carl and Tez i got my car back on the road.

So with the changes made she needed a remap so off i went to meet Andrew to work his magic.

But it wasn't ment to be...

With the extra torque the engine was producing my wrx rods couldn't take it and decided to make a break for freedom and exit the block.

To say i'm gutted is an understatement.

I would just like to say thank you to Andrew for all his help and for getting me and the car back home.

Powers not the killer the torque is, was running 286/308, was hoping for 330+ of each but my engine couldn't take it unfortunately

Never good mate, I had 3 bottoms ends go on 2 cars within space of 7 months last year, nightmare.

Didn't realise the wrx rods were that bad, on Evo's they replace the rod bolts for stronger ones when going for bigger power on the stock block, years of running stock power to then be remapped, higher temps, friction etc, eventually the bolts stretch, bearings spin, before you know it, its surged/lost pressure and nice hole in the block.

Everything happens for a reason, 2.1 stroker

It's slowly coming together: Thanks to Dunx and Arf.

Got an sti7 bottom end of Dunx and Arf is going to whip the heads of it for me.

I'm going to get the knackered motor out of mine and strip it to find out what the extent of the damaged and to inspect the heads.

Then i will strip the sti motor and rebuild it using some ACL race bearing, std crank and rods and some nice forged pistons, raising the c/r to around 8.5:1, which should help spool the turbo.

My wrx heads will have a little fettle but nothing major, bolt them back on to the block with some nice head studs.

Thats the plan at the moment but may change along the way, but time will tell.

I would just like to say thanks to everybody for the messages/txt and phone calls offering help and support, it's nice to know i have some proper friends out there cheers.
