Default Xxr 527 offset hawk sti??

Hi thinking of swapping from my rota gravel 18" with 245/40/18's for xxr 527's, as far as I know the xxr with et35 will fit better than the ones with et20 but I've seen some sets advertised as split sizes?? My car has bc coilovers with 5/4 springs(actually no idea what that refers to), anyway I'd say the car doesn't look lowered as there appears to be decent clearance above both front & rear wheels below the arches.. Could anybody recommend what size xxr's & offset I should get & also tyre size, should I stick to 245/40/18's or go 235 or even 225 & on my hawkeye will I need to roll/pull the rear arches?
Thanks in advance Matt

Thanks Harri for the reply, I've read certain people say the arches need to be rolled & others say not, camber bolts have also been mentioned but again I've no idea what they are unless that is just another name for longer wheel bolts?

Hi,

If you get ET35 you shouldn't need to get the arches rolled or pulled as yours is a widetrack.

Although your 245 tyres could cause a problem.

I thought this too but if your car is lowered properly and even with camber bolts you will get tyre rub, maybe only once in a hundred corners when you go hard, even with a widetrack, but it will still rub at some point. Here is my story with the exact same wheels and car:

Cheers, am I right in thinking I could fit et20's on the rear as long as I had the arches pulled/rolled for a more aggressive stance? & for the record what are camber bolts?

Thanks for the info. Couldn't see it from your thread, but did you fit the camber bolts or go straight for the arch roll? I was hoping I can sort mine with teh 1.7 deg you get from camber bolts.

ET20 and ET35 have the same concave. Will look no different and no more agressive. To get the more agressive look you need to go for the 9.75" wide wheel.

I fitted the rear camber bolts first but it still rubbed on the passenger side only, so went for the roll lol.

It's more the sharp edge of the unrolled under lip that you have to worry about especially if your driving it hard, as you could see from my tyre it rubbed some outer rubber off the tyre, if you go real hard it could actually puncture the sidewall.

Good luck whatever you decide!

Looks like I'll be getting the rear arches rolled then! Not that I ever drive it hard!!!!!

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

et 35 would be maxing it with a 245,40,8 tyre , we have done it before but you will need camber bolts front and rear and still "may " get rubbing under hard driving conditions
