Wheel fitment and tyre size question, please advice?
High folks.
I've been looking for a while and finally i have found a set of wheels in the style i like and correct pcd: 5x100 in 18" size.
They all need a refurb, which is another question shortly.. but for now the issue is, as i thought it would be, that they don't quite clear the large brembo front brakes. I have a Blobeye STI.
These wheels are OZ Prodrives 7.5 x18 with ET53.
So i would like to ask your advice on 2 things:
Spacers... what would be the min size needed to allow brake clearance and should i do the same front and rear as there is clearly no prob with rears ??
Tyre size... these are currently fitted with 225/40/18 tyres, 2 of which are fullrun and have plenty of tread, 2 are other makes and will be changed as are knackered.
In the situation of using spacers and standard set up suspension, what would be the best size / make to use?
If i were to lower suspension (but not stupidly) say 1"- 1.5".. what size would then be appropriate??.. i would hope to get away with the same.
My car is fitted with the prodrive pack, but not sure if that included suspension change. Thought best to mention in case it's relevant to my questions.
