Default Wheel adaptor spacers

Hello all.

I used have a 2010 WRX STI, as it 19s on it I kept the original 18s.

I have just purchased a 2006 WRX Hawkeye with original 17s. I want to put the 18s on it, but when I tried the bolts aren't quite in the correct place.

Am I right in understanding the figure 5x100 is the placement of the bolts and if so is it ok to get a 5x100 to 5x114.3 adapter?

Will it then mean the wheels will fit and has anyone done this in the past?

Cheers for any help, but I couldn't find a specific answer anywhere.

In theory the wheels will fit, but you need to check on the offset as the adaptors will effectively change that

Plenty of people do it

Thats what I wanted to hear. I just didn't want to put some good wheels to waste. Or buy more! Spacers seems a much cheaper option.
