I'm looking at either these Kumhos, these Falkens or the old faithful Hankook Ventus V12 Evo for my classic turbo. What do you guys recommend for something that's not too noisy, reasonably hard wearing and decent in the wet? The Kumhos get an A rating for the wet performance which I like but I guess they'll be softer than the Hankooks and I've never used Falkens so have no idea about them ![Suspicious](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/Suspicious.gif)
Tyre size I shall be running will be 205/45/17 as I'm rather low and shall be on 17x8 C Ultras with 5mm spacing at the rear!

F1s are good, especially in the wet, but the corners wear very quickly.
Toyo T1-R's are as good as the F1's for grip and are £20 (ish) a corner less to buy, but I found they wear even faster than the F1's.
I'm currently trying the Verdestein Ultrac Sessantas and while the feedback through the wheel isn't quite as good as a Toyo, they are wearing well and they seem a great all rounder.

I've had several sets of the kumhos and found them to be a good tyre, they hold on pretty well in dry and wet conditions, the only way I can get them to break traction is if I am a bit violent with the clutch and throttle.
That said I haven't tried either of the others.

I had kumhos YEARS ago that came on a set of Hellfrauds Team Dynamics 6 spoke wheels I had on a Carina II and she was grippy enough but obviously the Impreza will be scrabbling for grip much harder! Maybe I'll try them out on the Imp' then

Depends what they were, the first set I had on the Impreza was a set of ku31 ecsta sport, they were not bad at all, maybe felt a little soft in the tyre wall, but replaced them since with a couple of sets of ku39 ecsta le sports, which feel better than the other one, either way both gave good traction wet or dry. If I give the car a good boot full around a wet roundabout it would just grip.
I also run kumho ecsta kh31 on my volvo in a 205/50 17, they replaced a set of Michelin and Pirelli and are as good as either and I really do chuck that car about possibly more so than the scoob given the extra body roll.
I have just replaced them on the scoob though with a set of nexen n6000. Reason being that I have changed to 18" wheels, as I had them anyway and the original wheels were all buckled on the inside of the rims due to our lovely smooth roads! My local tyre fitter, although now a kumho dealer, said they didn't list them in 225/40 18, and looking on camskill website they had these for £52 a corner in that size, everywhere else they seemed to be £80-90, and I had read a few good reviews and knew they are a mid range tyre like the ku oh so thought I would give them a go. They seem to hang on pretty well in the dry, but I haven't tried them in the wet yet, although my missus said they are ok, but I think I will be the judge of that!

I've got the same question. Got a hawk STi with the RB320 OZ wheels on it. The previous owner had the bloody awful Sunny budget tyres on it. They are abysmal. Understeer at 25mph in the wet.
I used to have Hankook Ventus V12 Evo on my Civic Type R and they were great. I was going to put these on the STi. Recommended or any other options?

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 2. I get between 10k-12k miles. change them once a year. about £100 per corner. awesome in wet and dry. my car is a daily driver and used for fun on the weekend. had pirelli p zero beforehand and they were s**t. had my car sideways at 55mph in dry (not intentional).

I'll second the Eagle F1 ASMY 2's had these fitted to my STi a few weeks back and they are very responsive and give excellent grip wet or dry. As for wear I can't comment yet as I have only done about 1k on them but so far so good and camskill are selling these at £98 a corner delivered in 235/45/17 97Y XL result!

Rhythmeister when I signed up for my Hatch I told them I wanted 4 new tyres put on as the previous ones were pretty low. They whacked on Kumhos and I need to be honest when I picked her up for collection I was pretty peefed off but credit where it's due they have been a very reliable tyre come rain or shine and the wear has been totally unbelievable.........I'll not say how many miles they've done and still going strong ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Seppy - are the F1s only lasting around the 10k mark???
