Hi,
I just put my new Asym2's (215/45R17) on my bug WRX over the Easter weekend and everymorning so far I have had flatspots on at least one tyre.. front right.
which makes driving for the first 2-4 miles a right pain..
is this a case of "they all do that sir".. or is there something wrong here??
Temps overnight are down to -3'c and upto about 5-8'c by the time I get out the front door.
Currently at 2.1 - 2.2 bar as stated by Subaru..
cheers
Vik

Some tyres are prone to this. Back in the Ford RS days, Yokohama were popular but prone to getting a temporary flat spot if left standing for a week. I notice a very slight roughness if I haven't driven the Vredestein Sessanta's for a week or so, but it quickly improves.

Don't you think the side walls are soft?
With the car standing I can rock the car and see fair amount of movement on the tyre side walls.
What is the best pressure to run on the new F1's?

Those levels do look a bit low and would explain the flat spots. Does anybody else run these pressures?

Agree about the side walls looking softer, look under pressured. But no ill effect on handling.

Can anybody tell me if the asemmetric 2 has a softer sidewall than the asemmetric 1? I found the asemmetric 1 a very good tyre with quite a stiff sidewall (compared to the old GSD3's Anyway which had a really soft sidewall and ruined the feel of the car) I'm now looking for a new set of tyres and was going to buy the same again but see the asemmetric 1 has been replaced by the 2, has anybody used both & have they found the sidewall in the newer version to be softer?
