Geometry set up will help, better tyres will still understeer 5 mph more. Also make sure tyre pressure is ok Subarus tend to be more pressure on the fronts, I run 2.3 bar front 2.1 bar on rear.

Pretty much what Fawor said, you need tow ork on the suspension to get rid of it.

I have crap tyres on mine (amongst other problems) and the car kept over-steering badly, the back end was constantly stepping out.

I then got stiffer rear arb, drop links, BC coilovers and geometry set up and the car now under-steers badly! Think the suspension is too stiff now for UK road camber/bumps.

It's a better feeling though as I know if I'm comfortably into a corner I'm not going to be fighting the steering wheel.

Good geometry set up alone will make a big difference to understeer. Won't help with body roll etc, but try Prodrive or Powerstation settings and you'll be surprised how much it improves turn in and general steering feel.
