Black Standard Blobeye Wheels?
Hi everyone, I didn't see a new members section so I thought I'd fire away and make my first post here! I'm in the process of getting myself a blob' STI, my first Subaru.
I'm considering respraying the standard wheels black as I'm not mad on the gold STI wheels against the blue, plus I have a tame painter/powdercoater so thought I'd try it out! Does anyone have photos of the standard wheels repainted black at all, or even better on a blue STI?
Cheers!

Hey and welcome !
I have seen quite a few threads where powder coated wrx wheels have reacted to the process and become brittle and failed catastrophically ,,, not sure if they use different metal formulas for the sti wheels but definitely do plenty research before going down the powder coat route on subaru oem wheels imo
Welcome again :-)

^ my brother owns a powder coating business and has done for 15 years and has done no end of subaru wheels standard and aftermarket and had no problems with genuine wheels?
It's normally the cheap aftermarket wheels that crack or react.
I have had not end of wheels and parts powder coated with no problems.

Thanks guys, never heard of wheels reacting to powdercoat in my experience, although I've heard of parts cracking with the heat, I would have thought wheels would be fine with heat mind? Thanks for the input though and Maz that looks nice, I think I'll go down the gloss black paint route. Cheers!

Just to revive this thread from last year since I now own a Subaru, a friend who does powdercoating has got some gunmetal in, has anyone got photos of a blue blob with gunmetal wheels?
Might need a new thread title to get people to post their gunmetal photos but worth a punt!
