Default Big brake kit 16" wheel clearance

Hi all, new to the forum but a long time lurker. I own an 04 plate Forester XT, pretty much bog standard at the moment. I want to keep it looking as standard as possible but plan to run more power in the future.

Before power comes brakes and suspension, therefore I have purchased a big brake kit. 304mm discs with 6pot K-sport calipers, which I know will clear my wheels from a diameter perspective but I am fairly certain the rear face of my alloys will foul them from what I have read online. Unfortunately I do not know the exact measurements of the calipers as they haven't arrived and I have purchased the kit second hand.

My wheels are the OEM 16" 5 spoke wheels (Subaru part 28111SA020) which I believe have an offset of 48.

Once the calipers arrive, how do I acurately measure clearances in order to ascertain what size spacers I'll need?

Those wheels are terrible for clearance, it will be huge hubcentric spacer needed, the spokes are flat straight up flush with hub. I ditched them for UK turbo gc8 16s and speedline comp2 16s when I fitted ap 304 to my foz.

Appreciate the response, I figured this would be the case. Do you think I could get away with running 15mm hubcentric spacers or would I require 25mm ones?

Not sure, I did have 25mm with built on bolts on my forester for a while, think that was for std four pots. 15mm is to much for OEM studs anyway. Got a spare set of refurbished comp2 with forester size winters on, lol.

I've seen those listed on eBay, I already run all season tyres so I don't need a set of winters unfortunately

After a bit of thought, I've decided I'm going to change the wheels to a set from a GC8 Impreza. I'll get them power coated to silver as I don't want gold wheels on my forester.

Again I assume these are a straight swap for my current wheels and I can reuse my existing stud nuts and nothing needs modifying further? They look quite cosy against a standard set of Subaru 4 pots using a 294mm disc, with my discs being 10mm bigger than standard, therefore an extra 5mm further towards the edge of the wheel, will the wheel clear the caliper?

Thanks in advance.

Yes just make sure there 1999 2000 five spokes and not the earlier ones.

They clear 4 pots and ap kit, I haven't had ksports but if they are designed for classic they should fit and you can always use very small spacer. Best try before powder coating though.

Ended up grabbing a set of 17" bugeye wheels locally (they need a refurb) for a good price - OEM part 28111AE170, they clear Subaru 4 pots so I'm hoping they clear my 6 pots!

I'll be test fitting this weekend.
