Default Sti 08 brake pad issues

Hi
i noticed earlier today that my front brake was making a creaking noise and put it down to the car being parked up for a while. When I got home I took the wheel off to investigate and found one of the pads had gone like this.

Has anyone else ever had this issue or know why it might have occurred?
cheers
Lee

Hi
It looks like the pad has rusted and stuck to the disc , there is metal content in most pads too , as you've driven away it's pulled the materiel off , looking at the thickness of the pads , i'd say they were due to be changed anyway

Would anyone know why pads would wear more one side of the disc than the other? One pad is about 3mm thicker than the other. All pistons on caliper are moving freely.

Could be corrosion under the pads plates making the pads a tight fit in the caliper , if the pad can't move freely it will continually rub on the disc and wear down quicker , it's a common problem on the STi Brembo's
