Default Widest wheel with a proper tyre

Will 18x 8.5J ET38 wheels with 255/35 tyres fit Hawkeye without rubbing and arch work ? Ride height is irrelevant at this point

Pictures if possible please. Been sitting on 17 x 7.5J ET48 for 10+ years and want wheels that actually fill the arches

I can not find a definate answer anywhere even using the famed 'search' button

Thanks

255 will be too wide imo,235 be best for that size,
I run 225/40 on this size wheel but ET35,fill the arches perfectly

Was'nt being sarcastic didn't read it properly. With three posts in seven years there's no call to be smart.

Exactly thing trying to avoid stretched tyres, stick-on arches / rolling them or rubbing of any kind
Hence wanting 255 / 35 tyres on 18 x 8.5J ET38 wheels, gives close to stock height and brings the wheels out
Alternative was 235/40 tyres on 18 x 8J ET35 wheels, also bring wheels out but higher overall height

Like said in original post had this car for more than 10 years, so it's completely irrelevant how many post made.
Clearly some people get their 'post count' up just by posting trash and that's exactly why alot of people don't use this platform

You Sir are a pompus little **** I was only trying to help you I missed where you said hawk in your original post so asked what car then edited the post with forget that I'm blind. No one was being sarcastic or smart and if you can or know how to look at my previous posts and you will find that out for yourself my answers to peoples questions are usually short and sweet with no derogatory comments. I have no wish to get my post count as you imply. I think you must have a bit of a chip on your shoulder or are very insecure. Hope you find out what size wheels you need after ten years owning your car

What a ****ing muppet, you are 1509joe wrote 3 posts on here alone with nothing but tripe, I can only imagine the complete and utter bull**** you've wrote over the years. If you really struggle with reading maybe you should ask your mummy to turn on your night light.

No wonder no one uses Scabbynet, with jumped up ***** like you. Good luck on increasing your post count, it's obviously very important to you.
