Question

All,

At start up for the first mile or so I'm getting a metal on metal scraping noise. I'm going to get in tougch with m'dealer just in case but though I'd ask here first if anyone had any clues.

It does not sound like build up of glaze on the disks more like metal on metal whay could it be warped rear disks or something worse?

Cheers

Lightbulb

Could be your rear pads are worn out!
(I know it's stating the obvious)

take the wheel off from where the noise is coming from and check the inside of the wheel rim,iff theres a mark scored into it then its probally the shield which covers the brake caliper which has been bent outwards and is now fowling the wheel, iff the wheel is clean from and scratches etc...then it has to be discs, pads or maybe a very badley worn wheelbearing.poss.

I have also just experienced this (like, about 10 mins ago)!

Moving off, there was a sound like something dragging on the ground. Got out to check for exhaust falling off, etc. Nothing obvious, so drove off again. Sound starts up again so I stop and look underneath (again) and nothing obvious. Drove off again and no more dragging sound

I was thinking either rear pads or stone caught between caliper and disk?
