Question

Guys 'n' Gals,

I'm currently going through the new wheels dilema! Looking for some sexy, but tough looking 18s in the next month or so to go with some more agressive styling mods to my car (Morettes, mesh, STi5 spoiler etc).

What are your opinions on anthracite rims - in particular on red cars (usually prefer silver/polished myself). Any pics would be useful please. Following thread details what I am considering(Action Specials).

Any ideas???

Cheers,

Kev

Wendy,

Thanx for that - had hoped to see the whole car for a better idea. Admittedly I'm not a big fan of the team dynamics wheels but if you have the whole image, I'd be very grateful if you could mail it to me or post it on this thread.

Cheers,

Kevin

I have a white WRX with Anthracite mags and actually prefer them - they make the car that bit more unique and (big selling point) they hide the brake dust much better than the silver mags.

Hi Kevin
I've just sent you a picture of my car with Anthracite Speedline ST2's. I think it suit the car quite well. Hope this helps

Guys,

Thanks for the pics and suggestions. I agree it would make the car that little less common looking, hence my query. I never used to be a fan of coloured wheels - in fact I am still not, but anthracite is slightly different.

Still undecided at the moment, but have a month or two to decide, best get the extra body mods out the way first. I'll post pics on the Gallery as and when the changes occur.

Thanks again,

Kevin

Red cars and gold alloys look sweet....

I had dark anthracites on a MY94 once, changed for golds, much nicer as it brings the red out more, and i'm not the biggest fan of gold wheels. IMHO.

Thanks Andy,

Admittedly, I'm not so sure myself. I borrowed a set of gold wheels once and really hated them. Although they were standard rims, perhaps if they had been larger and a different style....

Looks now as though they will be polished silver when I decide what design/brand to go for. Fox do a polished/smoked 5 spoke, which looks great, but not in a Subaru fitment

Oh well.. the search goes on!

Cheers,

Kev

Simon,

Thanks for the pics. My car is bright red.. hence I think the gold wheels on the car in the pic do suit it, but better than they would look on mine.

I believe I have found the rim I will go for. Its a Subaru fitment and is a polished/smoked silver finish. They aren't too different from the wheels I have and are £625 for a set of 18s (so good value too)!

Cheers,

Kev
