Hi all

May be I could have a chance buy full Brembo brake system(front and rear) from present STi. So the question is: Can I fit it on MY98 and what exactly I need for fiting? ( wheels - 16" is probably too small, fitig to the McPerson strut-caliper holder, rear handbrake drum/disc...) Will it work with old MY 98 ABS senzors? ...

Many thanks for any advice or help.

I see the main problem being getting a wheel to go over the calipers, unless you are getting calipers really cheap, a brembo or AP setup would be a better option, and cheaper all in when considering wheel availability as well.

Yes 16" is small I need 17". I can get STi Brembo from damaged car ( buy from ins. co) for very good price.
But still this question about rear handbrake/disc... Is ist the same system like GT or other?

Rear discs on the STi7 are like 300mm, front are around 335mm, calipers will be a problem with some wheels as they are quite large for 4pots.
(should also point out that Brembo discs are something like 250+ quid each for the big uns and pads have been found to be expensive too but i think tsl do cheaper variants )

Hmm yes it is true. But 3000km is brand new for me for 500,-
Thanks for TSL, that 16" Brembo kit is very interestig... Worth it for that money when compared with uprated OE 4 pots + pads and discs?

STI 7 discs are 320mmm on the front. So there is a remote chance they fit under some 16" wheels which the brembo calipers.

If you can get the calipers, you might be able to fit 310mm discs and put the calipers on brakets to fit.

I can get the brembo calipers off an EVO 6 for £300+vat a pair.

The calipers from the STI are very very thick indeed, the problem is not with the disc diameter, only some wheels will fit on and not foul the actual caliper, I have tried several 18s that foul.
You need a wheel with an unusually thin or shaped spoke. Even the P1 18s will not fit Subaru had to bring out a slightly different design.

Erik,

TSL are selling a new 17" wheel model (Pro Race One) which should give you plenty of clearance. There are some pics in this forum under "Less lbs for less £££". Check it out!
