Question

How long does it take before new tyres ( F1's ) are at their best performance levels?

Just had 4 new ones fitted, they seem to make the car pull slightly to the left and are (just now) not as grippy and as stable going round high speed corners as my old bridgestones.

I thought my Toyo's were pretty ropey, up to 300 miles. Stick like **** to a blanket now.

The F1 are good as gold..... better than most other tyres (IMHO)

Run them in gently for about 50 miles and then should be fine.

Any pulling to either side wont be because of the tyres... means your tracking / geometry is all to ****. You wanna get that sorted by a decent 4 wheel alignment centre (not a joe bloggs kwick fit tracking place as they are crap and will make it worse rather than better)

I found 205/50R16 Eagle F1 GS-D3 quite fidgetty for the first few hundred miles after switching from S02-PP. Now they're well run in, I rate them better than the S02 they replaced, at least on 16".

I pretty much agree with Mark L as I did the same swap, only to 17's in GSD3's. Took about 1000 miles for them to feel right in dry conditions. Messed about with the pressures a bit too, running around 35/32 I think. I'll check that though!
Stick with them, you shouldn't be disappointed.

thanks for the replys.
Have done around 100 miles now....thats better....think I went a bit crazy with them, straight out of the garage, straight onto a high speed motorway (corner) slip road and I nearly lost it!!

Seems fine now...As for the tracking still pulls slightly to the left (might be camber) how much should it be for 4wd tracking?

My manual (Audi) says 500 kilometres - about 300 miles.
