Iv'e been offered some brand spanking 17's at a very good price for my MY98, but the offset is ET45 - will they fit ?
Also they currently have brand new tyres on 225/45.

Think they were ordered for a Rover ZT/75 .

Best regards

Thumbs down

If the wheels are from Rover they wouldn't fit and don't go under ET48 as your wheels will full the rear arches and you will have much more problems (see SIDC FAQ).
From what I know you can decide between ET48-55, perfect is 52-53.

The wheels for the ZT are 18" on 225 x 45 as std.
I have had a quick look at our cars and it looks like the PCD is about 5mm out and the ET looks about 60mm so you haven't a chance.

I run ET45 MiM's from scoobysport on my MY99 without any probs, even when the car was fully loaded....

Tyres are 215 40 17 though, those tyres are too big for a classic shape I think - might be ok on a MY01+

Cheers

I run 225 section tyres on an et45 - if the pcd is correct they'll fit, but you'll need to roll the arches at the rear...and be prepared to kill your splash guards when using slicks.

But if the wheels are from a different car, PCD will likely be different.

THORPEM, straight answer is no. Apart from changing the handling (which you may or may not like) with those tyres you will defo foul the rear arches which will need rolling.

But you never know. Peeps on here quote tyres sizes as if they were gospel but the truth is they can be +/-5mm wider/narrower than their nominal rating.

It sounds like you might be able to try these wheels/tyres. If so, get all your fat mates on broad and head for a bumpy country lane. If they rub, they are not worth the agro, but if they don't consider yourself very lucky

Richard.

The sizes I quoted on my message were for wheels off our ZT.
The ET of about 60mm means you won't even get the wheel on as the caliper will be in the way.
Then the bolts won't line up as the PCD is well out....
Sorry
