I think most people leave the rears alone, as most of the braking is done at the front. However, if you're going the whole hog, a set of uprated pads and discs for the rears might be nice. As to what? hmm, not sure, not an expert, sorry.

DaveB - Yes I'm selling all the 4 Pot Kit, bear in mind i had a service just b4 crimbo , spend 165.00 on the fron pads... and they have hardly been used, discs are the upgraded one, Group N, got grooves in etc.... make me an offer, dont even think of going blow 200 nicker! :-)

Those Alcon discs you're selling? They're £330 for a start
Someone's going to get a bargain!
I've got 6-pot APs on my UK00 and I would say if you're going on track, stick some hotter pads in the rear for sure, like Ferodo DS2000 (official Prodrive upgrade, only from Scooby dealer). Then get the brakes well bedded-in and see how it goes.
You obviously want the best and fine-tuning a brake set-up depends on quite a few variables. Suspension plays a big part, and pads, obviously. All I can say for sure is that when I had Pagid RS421 pads in the front, the DS2000s in the back gave good balance.
Then I fitted DS2500 in the front (excellent pads, road or track, and cheaper than the Pagids) and noticed I needed less pedal pressure. This means that the rears were not working so hard and you need them to keep the car stable (they don't do much actual stopping). So I fitted DS2500 to the rear as well, in the hope that the higher friction would work the rears a bit harder for the same pedal pressure.
It worked a treat and I can now do full-on 100mph stops with no hands on the wheel. (NOT recommended, potentially fatal, be very, very careful - but it makes the point.)
