Question

I'm after some tips for fitting some new rear pads to my Impreza.

Thanks to some useful intructions on here I have just done the fronts discs and pads without too much bother (well once I got the bolts undone!).

But I've done a search or 3 and cant find any instructions for the rear pads.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or lend me some advice.

Thanks

Trig

Pads only are much easier as the callipers have a bolt that allows the calliper to be swung open to reveal the pads. In my experience the main calliper bolts are hard to undo but the ones for the pads are easier.

I've done pads in around 30 - 45 minutes before. Disks aswell adds an hour.

Cheers

Did this last weekend.

The most time consuming part is taking the wheel off!
Undo the lower bolt fixing the sliding part of the caliper to the fixed part (where the pads sit)
Rotate the caliper upwards
take the pads out
remove all the metal backing plates and put them on your new pads
push the piston in
put the new pads in, don't forget the copper grease
rotate caliper back down and tighten bolt.

Very easy, even I can do it

Justin

Question

Pardon me for pinching this thread, but I want to change my front pads myself, where did you find the info on doing them trigbert?
Also, is it worth just putting in some standard Subaru or Ferodo or whatever ones, or are there some more high performance ones that will be better with the standard discs? Its a MY00 by the way.

Thanks guys.

Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds easy like the fronts

New pads delivered Thursday so guess what I'm doing for the weekend, losing skin off my knuckles.

There is a good one with colour piccies and all on the scoobymods website I think.

Its for a WRX I think but the principle is the same.

Also have a search on this site for little bits.

Cheers again guys
