My car is beautiful, sexy, gorgeous.... Until you look at the brake calipers, Especially on the rear... Nice lovely rusty colour. mmmmm yum!
Ok, I am going to paint them and make them look gooooooood but I have a few questions, 1) What is a good, and not too expensive way of getting all the crap off the calipers? 2) on the rear you have the caliper, and then there is this rather chunky metal bit that seems to fit around the caliper, is it ok to paint this as well? and finally 3) The disk... No, I am not going to paint the braking surface, don't worry, but the 'hub' bit of the disk, that goes from the surface there the wheel make contact (The bit with the holes) inwards to the braking surface, is it ok to paint that bit too? as it is also rusty!

You can buy "Brake cleaner" from most car shops, and Halfords, which will remove the crap.
You can paint all of the caliper, but I wouldn't bother with the back plates, and avoid getting too much paint round the bleed nipple, and NONE in it!!
Use any High temperature paint/engine enamel from same outlets, or Hammerite smooth (Smoothrite). If usuing Hammerite, you'll need some of their thinners too to clean the brush afterwards.
You can paint the disc centres. I did mine with High temperature silver/aluminium paint, but be prepared for the rust to reappear here after very few weeks!
