I need some new front pads for a MY00 and would like some better initial bite than the OE pads but am concerned after reading a lot of posts on here that other pads might warp the disks. The car does get driven fairly hard so am I better off sticking with the OE pads, or would something like a Mintex 1144 be OK with these discs?

If you want to keep the original discs then I wouldn't fit uprated pads. I tried Mintex 1155 with standard discs on my MY00 and the discs were warped in a few hundred miles. I have now swapped to Pagid discs.

Cheers,

Ian.

1144s should be okay. Prodrive upgraded pad, which retains your warranty, is Ferodo DS2000.

They are good pads, but they too can **** your discs and warranty or not, you'll only get replacement standard discs which are known to be not up to the job. That's why Prodrive offer TWO different upgrades for the car

If you use your brakes hard, then you're probably due for some new discs anyway on an MY00 car. Time to upgrade discs and pads, then

Richard.

Ferodo ds2500 or Pagid rs4.2.1 are much kinder to discs and should be fine for road use............

I had DS2500's on my old MY00 for 15K miles, fast road use only and no problems. Better bite and less fade and using the OE discs.

Tarox fast pads fine on OE discs Main dealer service recommended them and fitted them £60 cheaper than the PD item and quieter.
Discs lasted well pads lasted 10000 miles including three track
events.
