Looking to uprgrade my brakres on my 94 wrx from the standard discs & pads to something a bit better.
Currently having problems finding anything other than standard discs. can get the upgraded pads but no point really without the discs too.
What I need to know is, can I get any drilled discs and pads from anywhere that will fit.
Wouldnt have thought it was a problem, maybe the bloke was just telling me a fsast one and trying to get me a brake upgrade kit for £1700.

Any ideas?.

£1700? That sounds as though it would be an AP 6-pot kit for that, which is pretty damn fine!

I went from std discs and pads to EBC Greenstuff pads with Willwood drilled discs, which were ok, better than standard stuff, I then went to a set of movit 4-pots (basically Porsche GT3 Calipers and Pads with Porsche Turbo disks - 1700 quid)

a 94 is going to have 2-pots (unless previously upgraded) and a set of 4-pots from a 98 or onwards car would be good.

Personally, in hindsight I would have not messed around and got straight to a top spec kit such as the movits or the AP 6-pot kit, though saying that, the TSL 6-pot kit is rather nice.

THere is no real point going for bigger brakes (ie 6 pots) unless you want to go for big power.

I know loads of people (including myself) who have upgraded to 4 pots and am pleased on that.

I would suggest the Godspeed kit. You can but a set of 4 pots and discs and pads from Graham Goode for just over £800. However, if you look in the for sale section, sometimes you get a set of second hand 4 pots for around £300.

THats why i did, upgraded the 2 pots from MY95 and got 4pots off a P1 and im much happier

I went the 4 pot route like Money but with Turox 300mm Groved and vented discs instead of the P1's, much better than the standard set up, bear in mind tho that you will need at least 16" wheels to clear the caliper.

Wink

Can i just say that i have fitted a set of Black Diamond drilled discs front and rear along with Mintex performance pads and the results are great(This is for a 93WRX).

The car still has the original calipers.

I cant see the point of having better calipers as the car doesnt have ABS. Dont go over the top on brake purchases Personally, i dont think you need to.

However, i would give my right arm for for an AP or Brembo brake kit
