What are these like, i'm not expecting them to be as good as say the F1's, but how do they compare or waht are they like compared to tha standard fit Potenzas? At less than £60 pwe corner fitted, its a massive saving that i would be prepared to compromise on!

Although I roughly see where you are coming from Austen, it's still the only bit of the car that is in contact with the road and therefore surely shouldn't be compromised on at all

Apologies mate... but can't comment on the quality of these tyres

Agree with SiPie on this one. Don't compromise on tyres.
The cost to repair your ditched car will far outweigh the saving made on tyres.

You may as well fit avon zz1's if your going to be suicidal
Always fit the best tyres you can afford and not ones that will leave you with a considerable bill to pay for accident repairs (if your still alive )
Check out the likes of www.scoobyworld.co.uk for cheap GOOD tyres (Toyo's) that are not much more than those your looking at

Point taken . But eh i thought i would just try a Pair to see . Will proberly go 4 Toyos next time but i was in a position when arriving back in my depot from a 14 hr shift at 8 am in morning to find i had got a puncture. With 30 miles to drive home and not wanting to use space saver i was stuck. In the you need i had to get something . Couldnt get 215/45/17 in toyos so this was next option .

Good move, though I think you can do better than £98 per corner. I got a set of 4 for £360 balanced and fitted near me.

I have the Ecsta 712, which are not their grippies road tyre. I've found them to be excellent really. THey do squeal quite readily, but it's not like they are loosing grip when they do. THey wear very well and are quiet as tyres go. Very good in the wet also.

Probably not quite as good as Toyo's, but unless you want to save precious seconds in a special stage style, it's probably not an issue.

I believe the Kumhho Ecsta 712 is to be fitted to some BMWs from the factory now, so they can't be that bad.

Hi all, I'd just like to say i have been using kumo tyres on my impreza 215/45/17 for the last 3 years and they are a very under rated tyre, i have never had any problem with them and I put them to the test most days...

Cool

Gentlemen, just fitted a set of Kumho V70s super sticky tyres (£108 each inc everything) on my hill climb STi. Size 17 x 205 x 40.
Realy sticky BUT I have recorded the same race times on my trusty Toyo TS1's, so there's a thought or two!
Toyo's realy are good, and the F1 seem to be their equal too.
Buy the best you can.....NO Avons!
