Question

I've just had a nasty sounding graunching sound coming from the rear right on braking - mostly when almost at stop then when moving off again with a metallic ringing noise. I've done a brief visual but can't see anything. Anyone had this before? Suspect it could be a stone stuck in there....

Cheers!

Could be the wear indicator on the pads.
Its a metal spring that rubs on the disc when the pads are low.

Red face

Now £113 lighter after finding out that the right rear was down to the metal. Strange as the fronts have yet to be changed (got them checked). And I always thought it was the fronts that took the most wear!

You'll have to stop reversing everywhere
Glad you got it sorted
