Right then guys. I've been tyre hunting for my 17" alloys and found some 215/40/17s that fit the budget nicely!
At the moment I have got 205/45/17s on my standard wrx alloys. Will the 215/40s fit these alloys and how much difference would it make to the handling etc?
Cheers
Ben

It will make 12mm difference to your wheel diameter, so will change you speedo reading, thats if you're bothered!

Any idea which way it would throw the reading?

It's the profile (40) that makes the most difference! The difference of these is nothing to worry about at all, as it'll not make any noticeable difference to the speedo.

I think it should be under what it is now though!

What are the standard size tyres/wheels for your wrx?

Going from 205/45 to 215/40's will alter the speedo by 2%

So at a speedo reading of 60mph you will actually be travelling at 58.8mph.

As long as they will fit the alloys, then it won't be a problem!
