thanks for being so supportive sam, i didn't think anyone cared.

i did say that i was importing a set of the Prodrive GC-010 wheels from Prodrive-Japan. i wanted them in 19" but they told me it would be oversized for an Impreza and advised i go for the 18" instead.

anyway, i've got a blue STi8 and wondered what would look better the British Black or Metal Silver.

here are the pics:

British Blacks

Metal Silver

S-disk

M-disk

D-disk

If that is the choice i.e. Gold not an option to consider - then defo the British Black - very classy.

well you see, i already have the standard 17" gold ones and wanted a little change...i'm really in two minds which means it's very close between the silver and black for me.

I like the British black
The colour will compliment the blue of the scooby.

Deffo go for black mate. Silver dosent suit blue Scoobs at all but then again nor does biscuit brown, which is the way my silver wheels came back to me from the body shop!!!!

1. as mentioned, i've got a blue STI 8 and yes i also agree that British Black is the way to go

2. they were very difficult to find. after going through a really thick japanese language performance mag I saw some 19" on the new Fairlady 350Z (BB) and they looked, well you know kind of awesome. anyway i saw prodrive on the wheel (just about) and did a search. like sam i wanted to fit the 19" but for this wheel they told me that it would be oversized for an Impreza so i will go for the 18" and have them imported direct from Japan dealer.

questions:
1. i know weight is important, but what do you think a wheel should weigh at most for an STI 8? For sam to fit the 19", has this affected your performance? if it hasn't then you must have the nearest rally going pimp motor mate must look lovely

2. what are the best tyres to use for 18" wheels? i've asked once previously and was told Pirelli - Neros would be a good one. on my standard 17" I'm running Bridgestone Potenza RE070 and these are the dogs bollox!

cheers,
si

ps. what does oversized mean? the holes won't fit or it's too f'kin' heavy?

I pinched these picture from Talizman's post (hope he does'nt mind ) Mine is the ver 8 both cars have 19's. Not usually alover of gold wheels but after seeing the pic above I was about to get mine done in gold

Until I saw the prodrive wheel you found if you can get them in 19" I want them

The 19" leggera and tyre i'm running now is actually lighter than the standard wheel and tyre!

The Pirellis are a good tyre, the new goodyear is also supposed to be quite good as is the Bridgestone SO3.

that's you're STI 8? silver on blue is not bad is it? it looks very nice to me! but more towards the british black.

Sam, here are the offset for the 19's, do you think they will fit as the guy said oversized but he could have meant that they were just too heavy?

19×8.5J = 25/32/36/42 (offset)

19×9.5J = 15/27/36/44 (offset)

take a look at the GC-010E these on the spec c

i think they are the gold ones, nice or what?

Yep thats mine, looks a bit better now with the srings on

Those offsets look a bit dodgy for an STI 8 my wheels run a 48 offset, I think the Standard Sti wheels are around a 50 offset .
I'll do a search and see what I can find

no kidding, i just got a reply from these guys in Japan and they quoted the price per wheel of around £280.00 (yes each wheel) excluding shipment charges...

i know they are nice, but quite honestly that is very ******* scary and have put my plans on ice.

no way right? what do you think?

AK47, that price is not too bad, the UK WRC P1 rims in 18" are £275 each!, could you check if ya can if the Prodrive GC-010E wheels will fit a classic? couldnt see the right offset (18x7.5/8.0 ET53)myself on the site

ok will check for you dave. but don't forget shipping charges are excluded. i live in Hong Kong and for FedEx it'll cost me almost 150 quid on top so I would imagine more for the UK.

are you sure that is a reasonable price excluding tyres?

18×7.5J 5 100 48 BG ¥66,000 F1/S/S looks the closest but the 18x7.5 P1 wheels it ET53, so reckon would catch?
