Unhappy

My MY02 has had a bad case of brake squeel since new (15 months ago) each time it has been to service they have not done anything to fix it.

The squeel is evident when braking at the traffic lights.

Is their anything I can do other than replace the pads? If I replace the pads what would be a good option?

Thx in advance.

Thumbs up

On cars I've had that did this (non-Scooby) then I found rubbing a bit of copperslip grease on the rear face of the pads (where it touches caliper/piston) would help stop the noise.

'They all do that sir' you could try the copper grease on the back of the pads but it didnt cure mine,i replaced the pads with Ferodo DS 2500's and they were fine.
The noise was a pain but its down to the OEM pads thats all.

My MY02 had a modified shim kit fitted at 8 weeks - the squealing was driving me made.

I watched the mechanic do the job and they've been find for 14k smiles !

Had that on my MY02, you to the 15K service, garage said it was only brake dust. Didn't believe them, but they took the pads out, cleared out the break dust and they've been fine since.
