New scooby P6000 drift wagon
#1
Just bought a MY00 WRX wagon and had it sorted out by TSL (re-map etc.). Previous owner fitted Pirelli P6000's and they are crap. The ABS kicks in when braking hard in the dry and roundabouts in the wet are great for drift practice
Q. Going for the Toyo's but is there any difference between the 215/40's and the 215/45's and can you fit 225's on the std 17" wheels?
Q. Do 18" wheels increase grip or do they just look better?
Cheers

I take it when you mean an MY00 wrx you actually mean an MY01 WRX (euro/uk spec 215bhp car?) (ugly v classic).
If its a uk/euro car, then the wheels and tyres should be 215/45/17, the 215/40/17 were for the classic shaped cars that ran 17's (or 205/45/17 which are a better but less common tyre).
Tyre wise.... id say the toyo's are a good choice, you could also go for a slighly more expensive goodyear tyre (GD3) but some people have had problems with side walls splitting (you need to check the load index, it should be something like 87 or 89).
Bridgestone also have a few tyres out (the SO3, the RE070) which are a good all round tyre, its just ashame they no longer make the SO2 PP which was a storming tyre for the impreza.
