Post

I recently ordered a new UK STI and at the same time ordered some Prodrive FF7 wheels. Due to a misunderstanding the wheels weren't ordered until we collected the car whereupon we were told that they would be available within a few days. No problem really I guess. So we tucked the car up in the garage with the intention of swapping the wheels in order to sell the originals with delivery miles only.

Dealer now tells us that they won't be in for another four weeks. On questioning why we were originally told a few days he says that the sales guys always say that. Now that means the original wheels will have plenty of miles on them by the time the new wheels are here and hence will of course be worth less.

This epsiode coupled with the fact that they did not complete the PDI properly (another story altogether) means once again I have lost all faith in a main dealer. In 20 odd years of motoring the only dealers I have ever had good service from have been Honda dealers - pretty bad really - maybe I'm just unlucky - anyway I digress.

So does anyone here know where I can get some 18" Bright Flitter Prodrive FF7 wheels from at short notice. Then I can have the pleasure of cancelling my order at the dealer - small consellation, but at least they won't get anymore of my hard earned cash.

Regards,

tiggers.

If the wheels you ordered appear on your new car order form they have nowhere to go other than supply you with FF7 wheels irrespective of the condition of the standard set. Stick it out and insist its their problem that they were not fitted upon delivery. You have your statutory rights don't forget.

They should replace your standard wheels with new ones at the very least for the inconvenience! OR try compromising and suggesting a straight swap with cash diffence

I ordered FF7's from my local dealer (Wilsons) while I was awaiting delivery of my STi8, he got them in about a week. I ordered them without tyres as I got those from BlackCircles, this, along with a discount on the wheels made the package a lot cheaper. So there I was with a set of very tasty wheels and no car to put them on!
Unless there's no stock at Prodrive I'm amazed at the delay.
If you haven't already done so, insist on a discount - they owe you that!

We are expecting a significant number of P-FF7 wheels to arrive at Subaru by the end of this week.

I also want some of these in 18" for my WRX. In order to save a bit of cash I'm going to get the wheels only and stick some Toyos or something on.
