Pirelli or Bridgestone

D-no but get pireli next time...
i thought that when I got mine!
Had Bridgstone 18" S02's on my BM and the thing followed every track in the road. I've got 18" Pireli's on my MY03 and it never tracks just goes dead ahead!
+ the Pireli's do very well in all the tyre tests!

Nick, just because the rally team uses Pirellis, there's no automatic link that says the road cars also will.
You won't find Michelins on most Ford roadcars either, and I don't even believe all new Ferraris come with Bridgestones.

Bridgestone's are better than Pirelli's
Pirellis, IMO are around the bottom of the "leading" tyre manufacturers, along side Avon and the like. The likes of Bridgestone are among the top with Michelin (the best ) Dunlop etc.
You'll find that Pirelli's are a hell of alot cheaper to buy than the comparable Bridgestone's or Michelin's - there's a good reason for this....they're not as good! You pay for what you get

The Pirelli's developed for the rally car's do rather well. Just because they don't make a competitive road going car (or one that doesn't work well with the std Scooby driver or chassis) doesn't make them a budget manufacturer.
Their tyres ain't cheap for starters. The Subaru WRC also uses AP brakes, but you don't see them on your road car either.
The road car shares the body design and that's about that

HELLOM8: - in my experiance with god knows how many cars, when I get prices from the suppliers...the Pirelli's, along with Continental are almost always the cheapest main brand tyre with Michelin always being the most expensive.
