which wheels and tyres
#1
i have a 1997 impreza 2.0 sport and i need some bigger wheels but i have looked at tyre prices for 18" wheels and they seem very high (i am only 17 - lucky to get insured)because of this i am leaning towards 17" superleggeras in the grey (mica blue car) , is this a good decision ? also what size do i need to get within 17" , i have been told that the wrong size can make the speedo run slightly out ??? and where is the best place for the above tyres in the notts area ??? AND how will the 17" affect 0-60 and general handling when lowered as below...
Also the car is standard at the moment but when i get the 17" wheels on how much can i lower the car by (max)without ANY work or scrubbing (for looks and improved ride)
Thanks in advance (p.s. i dont need the bigger wheels to impress my mates because they are all in metros and corsas so the only see the back !!!)

If you are using 17" wheels I think you should use 215/40's on a Classic.
If you buy the standard WRX 03 wheels and tyres they are 17" 215/45's, the speedo reading will apparently be about 1.5 mph out at 60mph - this only brings it nearer to a correct reading. My WRX 03 is 9% overreading against both my GPRS devices (so it's definately 9% out)
Don't know about the 0-60 - also marginal i would think on such a minor profile change
