Right, I'm putting my old OZ Chrono 15" alloys on my Celica GT4 to watch the rally in to save my 17's. I need to get some new tyres for them first though - question is they originally have 205/50/15 tyres on but would 195/55/15 be more suitable for the weather/ conditions? I'm running 205/40's on my 17's and the 195/55's are a closer radius match...

So which would be best 195 or 205?

Just get some mud&snow/winter tyres in either 195x50xR15 or 205x50xR15 and you should be ok. You should be able to get a good range of tyres in both those sizes.
