Thumbs up

Anyone using them in the above size? I just want to check that they arent afflicted by the same horrible wobbly sidewall issues as the 205/50 16 s are that i tried before. Any comments gratefully received. Currently on Yokohama AVS , don't think theur too hot in the wet, even though i dion't tend to go nuts in the wet anyway!

Cheers cal

18s will not have side-wall issues, but could have fitting problems especially on a Classic at the rear.

If you've got a Classic, 215/40x17 is safe with ET50-to-53 wheels. 18s are a very tight fit and you need to check wheels and tyres carefully (not all tyres are the same size; quoted tyres sizes are nominal, not actual () ).

If you're set on 18s on a Classic, the only certain way is to fit them and drive them. Or face a very costly mistake

Richard.

I have 18s and the 225/35 18s, think theres spacers on to aid wheel clearance. Cheers might be tempted then, just on my old uk turbo i ran them on 16s on standard 205/50 16s and they rolled like they were made of jelly, wrecked the handling, Just making sure the same doesnt happen before i Blow 500 quid on a set, cal

Know a couple who have gone to 18"s originally with Toyos and then upgraded to Goodyear F1's and then then the F1's have rubbed on the rear quite badly even though Toyos in the same size were OK. Must be something to do with the shape of them around the shoulders. One guy had a Scoob, the other a Supra 3.0TT.
