Question

My 98 WRX IV (non STI - no 4 pots) has a set of front pads on the 'wafer thin' side.
I have two questions:-
1) I presume the calipers are the same as the UK spec cars - correct?

2) Any recommendations on pad makes - EBC, Mintex, Ferodo etc....

Ta very much!

Chris.
It very much depends on your driving style.
A lot of peolple use 'fast road' pads, like Pagid Blue or Mintex 1155, but these are quite pricey.
EBC Greenstuff have good reports, although I went through a set in one track day (with faulty calipers it turned out).
They are half the price of the others I've mentioned though.
I've decided to use different pads altogether on track.
I currently have OE pads in (supplied under warranty) but will probably try Green Stuff again after Donington, where I'll be using Red Stuff.
Then I'll get my Brembo's.........

Chris,
In possible answer to your first question: apparently my MY95 WRX (same calipers?) uses a legacy pad fitment not UK spec impreza, this is according to the mechanic who fitted my pads around 2 months ago.
The pads I had fitted are a Mintex "fast road" (cannot remember the number) compound. The initial bite is not as good as the previous (unknown make) but high temp performance is better.
Hope this helps
Did

Thumbs up

Thanks chaps - I think I'll give the EBC's a go - anyone know of a dealer in the NW London/Herts neck of the woods?

Also can anyone back up Did on the caliper type - if not I'll just remove a set and just compare them.
