Painting wheels??

I've got Gold Prodive 17" wheels on my MY03 WRX and am toying up with the idea of swaping over to black wheels, as the WRX examples I've seen in WR Blue with Black wheels look pretty tasty (IMHO).
Since I'm quite happy with the design of my existing wheels. Is it possible to get my existing Gold alloys painted black? Would I get a decent and durable finish on them by doing this? How much would it cost approx? Is this a good idea or should I just sell them and get a new set of wheels?
(I'm looking for the most cost effective way of doing this, but still getting a good end result).
Thanks,
Chris.

Don't think I'd trust myself to make a really good job of painting them. What is the best looking and most durable type of paint finish for wheels. Any suggestions for a company in York/Leeds/Hull area?

I've got the gunmetal(?) alloys on a MY03 WRX (black). I'd like them shinier to contrast more with the paintwork. Can I get them painted silver or chromed?
Anywhere recommended in the southeast (windsor/reading)? Don't mind travelling if necessary

I always thought that anthracite was best done by powder coating and not painting. There have been several threads on this on scoobynet and if memory serves me right there's one in the "third party......" section as I type .......
